Fashion designer Sue Wong is unveiling a high end line of dresses special to the Walt Disney Signature collection (pictured at right). It's no wonder the designer was chosen to create the line to be influenced by Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland Movie. With the introduction to her Spring 2010 collection reading "Beauty. Magic. Transformation.", Wong clearly has a thing for befuddling trickery. Inspiration for the collection is to be taken from main characters Alice, the Red Queen, the White Queen, the White Rabbit and the talking flower garden. From the noted bunch, we're sadly missing our favorite character, the mischievous Cheshire Cat, but we don't doubt there will be a dress suited for those with impish personalities in the collection (like ourselves).
Design Dish scooped the sale of NYC's skinniest house being sold at over $2 million. 75 1/2 (appropriately numbered given its slim stance on the block) Bedford Street located in the West Village measures at 9 1/2' wide by 32' deep. Built in the mid to late 1800's, The Real Deal tells us it was built over a carriage drive and led to horse stables in the backyard. A big claim to fame aside from the house's thin construction, Edna St. Vincent Millay once took up the space as did Carey Grant (supposedly).
Bloomingdale's Big Window Challenge 2010 will be installed at the store on 59th St in NYC tomorrow, January 19th. The window designing contestants are Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan of Apartment Therapy, Former Top Design contestant Eddie Ross for Elle Decor and Eileen Joyce, Bloomingdale's OVP of Interior Design. They've each come up with a window concept about a specific personality and how they inhabit the space. Voting starts on Wednesday so be sure to vote for your fave!
